Sustainable Procurement
SUAD’s commitment to sustainable procurement is reflected in all contractual agreements with service providers and contractors, ensuring compliance with the university’s sustainability standards.
This includes:
- Compliance with regulations: Suppliers and contractors must meet all legal and regulatory requirements related to health, safety, environment, and sustainability specific to their industry and scope of services.
- Environmental responsibility: Contractors are expected to use resources efficiently, assess and reduce the environmental impact of their products and services across their entire lifecycle, and commit to sustainable growth.
- Supplier and subcontractor selection: All service providers must evaluate and select their own suppliers and subcontractors based on social and environmental accountability.
- Qualified and informed staff: Personnel assigned to SUAD must be qualified and fully aware of the university’s sustainability initiatives and environmental standards.
- Integration into procurement processes: Sustainability criteria will be embedded in all tenders, contracts, and procurement guidelines, prioritizing low-emission, recyclable, reusable, or ethically sourced products and services.
These efforts ensure that SUAD’s procurement activities support ethical, social, and environmental objectives, promoting continuous improvement and responsible campus operations.
