“Arbitration is a major dispute resolution mechanism in international trade. This class is an introduction to the law of international arbitration. It will present its main characteristics. It will also focus on the specific question of the role of state courts in supporting arbitration. Indeed, state courts can play an important role before, during and after the arbitral proceedings. Appointment of arbitrators, interim measures and enforcement of awards are just a few examples.”

About the speaker:

Prof Olivera Boskovic
Olivera Boskovic is Professor at the University of Paris Cité where she is director of the Master in Internation Business Law programme. She holds a doctoral degree from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University and has taught in several French and foreign universities over the past twenty years. Olivera Boskovic specializes in private international law and international trade law. Her focus is on international contract law, transnational torts, International Environmental Law and Corporate Social Responsability. She also has an interest in international arbitration.
