SUSTAINABILITY

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) is actively committed to sustainable development through several initiatives across all areas, and strategies aligned with the United Arab Emirates’ national sustainability goals and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

As one of the key pillars of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi's strategic vision for 2024-2028, sustainability is reflected by a true commitment to act in an environmentally, socially, and economically responsible manner. The university stands as a proactive contributor to a healthier, more equitable future, where progress, stewardship, and sustainability go hand in hand. And each year, SUAD highlights its commitment through focused initiatives.

To implement its Sustainability Strategy 2030, SUAD promotes research that advances sustainability-related matters, partnering with key actors in the sustainability ecosystem. The university also leads sustainable practices - on and off-campus - and integrates sustainability into its academic offer.

Driven by representatives from all aspects of university life, sustainability is more than an initiative, but a guiding principle which is part of the university’s core mission. SUAD raises environmental awareness, fosters responsible innovation, and inspires conscious global citizens.
